4/15/25 - Florida teacher's contract was not renewed and the state is reviewng her teaching cert because she used a student's "preferred name" in the classroom. Florida law since 2023 requires schools to use names and pronouns which "align with biological sex".
4/10/25 - Florida's new "DOGE" initiative has asked colleges and universities in the state to provide detailed information on grants received by faculty and research from the past 6 years. They have been given a deadline of April 18 to turn over the information. No reason was given and much of the information is already publicly available.

3/22/25 - Classroom teacher told to remove "Everyone is Welcome Here" signs because they violated Idaho's "Dignity and Nondiscrimination in Public Education Act" and school policy requiring classroom signs be neutral and positive. The district did not explain how, and the community has supported the teacher and her message with chalk protests at district administrative offices.

3/20/25 - OCR finds Maine in violation of Title IX because of state/district policies which allow transgender girls to play sports, giving the state 10 days to comply with the Trump administration's interpretation of Title IX that bars trans girls and women from sports
